Virginia H. Gears
June 19, 1934 — February 21, 2022
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 87 on February 21 after a brief illness. She is now reunited with her loved ones: husband, Paul Gears; parents, Walfred and Margaret Pum; and sister Marjorie Merzke.
Virginia will be sadly missed by her brother Frederick (Nancy) Pum; children, Steven (Diane) Gears, Bryan (Janet) Gears, Lisa (Kevin) Glennon and Linda (Michael) Daley; grandchildren, Clausina, Steven (Sara), Eric, Scott (Jennifer), Sam (Krystal) Gears, Sean (Jeri), Shane, Chad (Cynthia), Dylan Glennon, Christopher, Andrew, Adam Daley and Kyle Bedient; 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Virginia was a faithful parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church, Rochester, NY for 50 years and more recently of St Charles Borromeo Church, Rochester, NY.
There are no prior calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday, February 26th at Charles Borromeo Church. Interment at Riverside Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
