ROCHESTER - Passed away peacefully July 1st 2021. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Nancy; sons, Gary M. Farrell (Vida Mikalunas) and Thomas G. Farrell (Kelly Whalen Farrell); sister, Barbara Stowell.
Walter (Gary) graduated from West High School and served in the United States Army. He became a Monroe County Deputy Sheriff in 1965 and served for 28 years. Walter was a big football and baseball fan, an avid reader, World War II history buff, chess player, talented artist, and an excellent writer who won the last Golden Pen Award given out by the Democrat & Chronicle. He was a generous and kind man who had a soft spot for dogs and animals.
Though you have gone, You are never far away, You are always in our hearts, and that is where you'll stay.
