Rochester: Departed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 5, 2010 at age 84. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter & Pauline Glende and sister, Helen (Benoit) Montgomery. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty (Munnings); sons, Charles (Judy) and Michael Glende; daughters, Patricia (Barry) Doohan, Irene (William) Froniear, Jacqueline (Pedro) Velazquez, Laura (Angel) Torres and Theresa (George) Gamble; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Benoit and Rite Ames; brother, Raymond (Marge) Glende; many nieces and nephews.
Walter was former ARRL-K2RGX and also a decorated WWII Army Veteran.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 8th from 10 AM-12:30 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue where a Memorial Ceremony will follow at 12:30 PM. Interment at the privacy of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Our devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, we will love you always.
