Wanda has passed away in the morning hours on October 6, 2023.
Pre-deceased by her husband Daniel (Danny) Martin and her Son Dennis P. Martin (wife Myra)
Survived by her sons, William Martin, Daniel Martin Jr., & John Martin and her daughter Connie Leach (husband Walter)
She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Each and every one of them who have their own special "nickname" that their Mema/Mimi had given them. From Kooker to Princess to Pumpkin to Booger to Gert all the way down to Prince and Sunshine and Sugar to name a few.
Wanda is also survived by her Brothers Larry Harrington (Linda) & Robert Harrington (Stacy) & sisters Charlotte Lotta (Vinny, pre-deceased) & Shirley Wilson (Ralph pre-deceased) along with her many nieces and nephews.
After a long battle, where her weary body that was but just an instrument to carry her soul, could no longer sustain her, has passed on into the afterlife where her soul will join Danny, her beloved husband of 60 years. Her doctors would have told us that it was her body that gave up on her in the end, but it very well could have been from a broken heart after losing her life-long partner just a few short months ago.
This great pain of losing ones' spouse was just compounded right on top of her pain and grief of having lost her youngest child (Dennis) just over one short year ago.
The pain her remaining family members have had to deal with over the last year has been and will be unsurmountable. We all will stay strong though because that is what we have to do. That is what we DO do.
Wanda/Mom, we will do everything thing in our power to make sure that the MARTIN name will live up to and carry on all the traditions that you and Danny have spent a lifetime to create.
