Greece: Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at age 89. Predeceased by his wife, Nancy (Scorse) Kane and friend, Judy Potter. He is survived by his sons, William F. Kane III and Bruce E. Kane; grandchildren, Scott, Butch, Angie (John), Jared & Shawn; great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Brittany and Ethan; special friends, Reggie and Claudia and many other close friends.
William was a season ticket holder of the Rochester Red Wings. He played minor league baseball in the Florida League, Canadian American League and the Penn League. He also played for the Old Rochester Ebbers Team.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Unity Hospital, Unit 3300 for the special and loving care given to William.
Family and friends may call Friday 4-8 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., where his Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 9 AM. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Al Sigl Center, 1000 Elmwood Ave, Suite 300, Rochester, NY 14620 in William's memory.
