GREECE- William P. Kenealy, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021 surrounded by the eternal love and gratitude of his family.
Bill was born in Rochester, NY on July 3, 1934 to William and Edna Kenealy. Alongside his identical twin brother John, he served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War era. He then attended the University of Arkansas, graduating in three years near the top of his class.
After a brief stint in Oklahoma working for an oil company, he returned to Rochester to care for his ailing mother. He soon began a distinguished 33-year career at the Eastman Kodak Co. In 1969, he married the love of his life, Shirley Kenealy. They were married for 52 years and together they raised three sons.
A lifelong voracious reader, those who met Bill were struck by his keen intellect and gentle demeanor. In the words of one acquaintance, he was a truly delightful gentleman. He was also effortlessly and consistently hilarious.
In addition to his cherished and loving wife and his even more hilarious twin brother, he is survived by sons John (Shana); Bill (Erica) and Tom. He was also a much beloved and proud Uncle Bill to his many nephews and nieces including Mary, Laurie, Cheryl, Nancy and Ava.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N Greece Rd, Rochester, NY 14626, on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 9:30am. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to the Golisano Children's Hospital.
