Rochester:
April 16, 1940 – September 5, 2019
William (Bill) died early morning September 5th after a battle with lymphoma. He spent his last days with family close by and cared for at Hildebrandt Hospice Center. Bill lived in Rochester, NY all his life. Predeceased by his brother, Raymond and sister, Helen. He is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Marjorie (Bell) Yandow; daughter, Debra Ann (Yandow) Bishop; son, William Edward Yandow, Jr.; grandchildren, Taylor Hitchcock, Donald Yandow, Alexander Bishop, Daniel Bishop and Evelyn Bishop, along with his sweet beagle, Cleo.
Bill worked hard and played hard. He was a fighter all his life. His love of family kept him going. He spent his last days caring for his wife he loved so. Many will remember him for his quick sense of humor and sarcastic demeanor; you always knew where you stood with him. His neighbors named him the "Mayor of Revella," a title he took seriously. He loved country music, especially Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. He was a life-long Catholic and had a deep sense of God's presence. His grandchildren enjoyed his silly jokes, reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas and commentary on current events. We will miss him. family will receive friends on Friday September 13th 2019 from 5PM - 7PM at New comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd Rochester NY 14609. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday September 14th at 10AM at Peace of Christ Parish, St. Ambrose Church, 25 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
