Willie Wayne Harrison, known as Wayne, was born on October 6, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Willie James Harrison and late Ruby Dean (Maye) Harrison Briggs.
During his youth, Wayne served as a boy scout developing a heart of compassion for and service to others. He graduated from John Marshall High School, Rochester, NY in 1975. Wayne was employed by the Eastman Kodak Company as "slitter" for 27 years in the rolling sheet film division and thereafter became certified as an electrician. He was later employed by the Regional Transit Service for 12 years in the grounds/maintenance division.
Wayne enjoyed spending time with family and friends watching sports, restoring his classic Cadillac cars, fishing, gardening, bowling and billiards. He was a very active collector of rare coins and bills, hot wheels, music 45s and albums along with memorabilia of his favorite teams – the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Lakers. He was a City of Rochester champion billiards player taking his team to several victories.
He peacefully joined the Father in glory on March 1, 2017. Wayne is survived by his loving fiancée, Alma Armand; sons - Jason D. Harrison and Maurice Newton; brother – Walter L. Harrison; sisters – Vivian (Vernon) Harrison – Elliott, Patricia Harrison and Violet Harrison; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his devoted dog, JD. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Robert T. Harrison.
