Zoraida Rodriguez

Zoraida "Sarah" Rodriguez, 80, passed away after battling a long illness on Friday, February 26, 2021. Born in Cidra, Puerto Rico, Zoraida was the daughter of Francisca Amaro and Antonio Rolon.

Zoraida was a member of the ElderONE Community Center; she enjoyed spending time with her family, helping others, watching movies, going to church and cooking. Zoraida will be remembered for her heart of gold, compassion, sassiness, love for animals and for being a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandma and great-grandma.

Zoraida is survived by her longtime partner Juan "Junior" Irizarry; sisters, Anna H. Matos, Norma Vega, whose husband José Vega is deceased, Elizabeth (Jim) Young; brothers, Victor Rolon, whose partner Brian Sheridan is deceased, and Antonio Rolon; daughter, Sonia Jones, whose husband Karl Jones is deceased; sons, David (Mary) Rodriguez, Edwin Rodriguez, and Vincent Rolon "Robert" Rodriguez; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Francesca V. Amaro; father, Antonio Rolon; husband, Nieves Rodriguez; brother, Juan Flores Amaro; sons, Ram?n Rodriquez, Nieves "Tony" Rodriguez and a host of other relatives.

Friends may call at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626 on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM, service to follow visitation. Private burial for immediate family will be held at a later date.

NYS Guidelines for COVID19 are enforce. 35 mourners maximum capacity per inside and outside of the chapel. Social distancing and masks are required to attend. Thank you for your cooperation.
